Lipolysis & Mesotherapy

The French Way for fat reduction

A number of body contouring and fat removal techniques are promoted as liposuction alternatives. Although these techniques don’t involve surgery, they generally don’t produce results as dramatic as those achieved with liposuction.

Lipolysis & Mesotherapy are widely practiced in France as a fat-weight-loss techniques and it has caught on in the UAE as well, Wellbeing Clinic being one of the clinics using these techniques.

Doctors and Lasers, Skin Care Specialists with Cosmetology and Anti-Aging expertise of more than 20 years in UAE, say that lipolysis is an alternative to non-invasive techniques for all the stubborn fat areas.

The French-imported medical technique that’s all the buzz these days is called mesotherapy. Developed in 1952 in France by Dr. Michel Pistor, originally for the treatment of vascular diseases, sports injuries, and the improvement of circulation, the technique involves the injection of small amounts of various medications into the mesoderm, the layer of fat and connective tissue under the skin. The theory is that with this technique the underlying fat is melted.

Who should consider this therapy?

95% “Spectacular” Results, this is the feedback of specialists using this technique: Patients come to Wellbeing Clinic clinic seeking a quick fix for cellulite, spot fat reduction, or overall inch loss. The compounds injected depend upon what the specialist is trying to treat — i.e. cellulite vs. fat — but generally include a combination of medications, plant extracts and vitamins. The compounds injected are all FDA-approved for their original use.

Lipolysis is used to dissolve fat, permanently, targeting the deeper layers of the skin in the areas of the stubborn fat, that diet or exercise doesn’t eliminate.

If mesotheraphy improves the surface of the skin, lipolysis will dissolve small to medium unwanted localized fat.

The active substance PPC naturally found in the body, too, is injected in the subcutaneous tissue and will destroy, emulsify and break down the fat in Cholesterol, which is easy for the body to eliminate.

How many sessions are needed?

The number of treatments depends on each individual, the nature of fat deposit, soft or fibrous and health condition. Usually results are shown after first treatment but best results will need 2-3 treatments at an interval of 3-4 weeks.

Is there any pain or downtime?

During the treatment, patient will feel a slight burning sensation and discomfort but can return to normal activities. Mild swelling might appear for a week, which is normal and transient. Lymphatic drainage massage are recommended after the treatment as it will help with the discomfort felt, more over will distribute better the medicine and stimulate the metabolism of the dissolved fat and cholesterol.

The abdomen and back regions in non-obese patients are excellent site to treat. The sub mental (under the chin, neck, submandibular row, upper arms thighs are having good results, too.

Is Lipolysis & Mesotherapy advisable for everyone?

The lipolysis treatment is not suitable for pregnant women, diabetics, patient with cardio vascular disease or blood disorder, kidney disease, malignant disorders.

Lipolysis (Mesotherapy) is not a replacement for liposuction, said , but it is a very effective therapy to reduce smaller fat areas in the face and body.

The results are amazing and long lasting, if not permanent, when Lipolysis or Mesotherapy is combined with Ultrasound Cavitation, Velashape, Muscle firming or lymphatic drainage massage. Changing the dietary habits, reducing sugar intake, drinking more green tea and less coffee, adding at least 20-30minutes or walking every day, will help enormously the results.
